2,000-year-old Roman theatre — visible from the street, no entry needed. Free to visit.

4

Alcazaba

11th-century Moorish fortress with beautiful gardens and arches.

There's an elevator on C/ Guillén Sotillo — no need to climb the hill.

5

Plaza de la Merced

Picasso's birthplace square — great spot for a coffee break.

6

Iglesia Santiago Apóstol

Oldest church in Malaga (15th century), built on the site of a former mosque. This is where Picasso was baptized. Mudéjar-Gothic style.

7

Malaga Cathedral

Renaissance cathedral with one missing tower — hence the nickname "The One-Armed Lady." You can go up on the roof for incredible views.

8

Palacio Episcopal

Stunning mustard and crimson Baroque facade — right across from the cathedral. Hard to miss.

9

Calle Larios

Main pedestrian shopping street with beautiful architecture on both sides. Malaga's "Fifth Avenue."

10

Mercado de Atarazanas

Central market housed in a 14th-century Moorish shipyard. Amazing stained glass window. Great for snacking and people-watching.

Open mornings only — closes around 2–3pm.

11

Taberna Antigua Casa de Guardia

Oldest bar in Malaga — sweet local wines served from barrels since 1840. They chalk your tab right on the bar top.
